Honoring Don Conreaux and the Future of Gong Teachings
As Grand Gong Master Don Conreaux steps into his 90s, a new chapter begins for the global gong community. His question to us, his senior students, is clear:
What is next? Where are the senior students going – and how will we carry the teachings forward in this next 9-year cycle?
Don has dedicated his life to sharing the Gong as an instrument of peace, healing, and cosmic connection. He has built a worldwide family of gong players, sound healers, and visionaries. Now, he asks us to take the baton — not to repeat, but to renew.
A Time of Transmission
Don has often said that the full moon in May begins a three-moon cycle of heightened energy and spiritual clarity. In 2025, this cycle marks a turning point — an invitation to all of us who have trained with him to step into active guardianship of the gong’s future.
From First Sound in Shanghai to Gong Cosmos in Taiwan, the gong community continues to grow. And with that growth comes responsibility: to share with integrity, to innovate with purpose, and to gather in resonance.
My Commitment as a Senior Student
As a long-time student of Don, I carry his teachings not only in memory but in action. Through the Nordic Gong Academy, I am creating spaces for:
